TTL-aware cache pricing
Cache writes aren't one price. Burnrate bills 5-minute cache at 1.25× and 1-hour cache at 2× — matching Anthropic's published rates. Cache-heavy sessions are never under-counted.
Per-call time windows
Every API call is timestamped to the second. Your 7-day total is exactly what ran in the last 7 days — not whole sessions rounded to a day.
No double counting
Streamed responses repeat usage data. Burnrate deduplicates by message ID so every API call is counted once — and only once.
Why two trackers can disagree
Most tools flatten every cache write to a single rate and bucket usage by session. Burnrate splits cache by TTL and attributes each call to the moment it happened. In a real cache-heavy week that's a 12%+ difference — and the extra is real 1-hour cache cost the simpler math leaves out.
