Burnrate Burnrate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 12, 2026

The short version

Burnrate runs entirely on your Mac. It reads local files already on your machine, does not collect or transmit any data, and has no servers to send data to. Your usage data never leaves your computer.

What Burnrate accesses

Burnrate reads Claude Code's local JSONL log files stored on your Mac (typically in ~/.claude/projects/). These files are created by Claude Code and already exist on your machine. Burnrate parses them to calculate token counts and estimated costs.

Burnrate does not access your code, your conversations with Claude, or any other files on your system.

What Burnrate does not do

  • ✕ Collect or transmit any personal data
  • ✕ Send analytics, telemetry, or crash reports
  • ✕ Connect to any server or cloud service
  • ✕ Use cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting
  • ✕ Access your source code or Claude conversation content
  • ✕ Write to or modify any files on your system

License validation

When you activate a license, Burnrate makes a one-time connection to LemonSqueezy to verify your license key. This is the only network request the app ever makes. No personal data beyond the license key is transmitted during this process.

This website

The Burnrate website (aiburnrate.com) is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. The only third-party service loaded is LemonSqueezy for processing purchases.

App updates

Burnrate checks for updates via Sparkle, the standard macOS update framework. This makes a request to download an appcast XML file to check for new versions. No personal information is included in this request.
